‘The Edge’
Along the edge,
shells adorn the sand.
Admired, however they are
taken by the hand.
Until their eyes meet,
the bucket now empty.
Happy in their homes,
a gesture which means plenty.

Whilst at university I worked on a collaborative project t where by the title brief was ‘The Edge’. I decided upon this little hermit crab guy as my main subject and also drew inspiration from my own memories as a child - walking along the beach collecting so many seashells I could barley hold them.
I think this would be lovely for a nursery or child’s bedroom, but of course adults can enjoy this too if they wish!
